James A. Black, MD
James A. Black, MD, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is board certified in Neurology. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, where he completed his first year of residency. At the University of Wisconsin Medical School, Dr. Black completed the final years of residency in Neurology, and remained there for Fellowship study and a junior instructorship in clinical neurology. During that time, he also conducted research in the field of epilepsy.
Since 1979, Dr. Black has had a private practice in neurology. Prior to returning to Texas in 2004, his offices were located in California and Washington. For four years (2000-2004), he was the only neurologist serving Siskiyou County, which is the northernmost county in California. Dr. Black’s special interests include electromyography and nerve conduction studies and the treatment of general adult diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system.
